Commentary
Shadow of Intent are one of the bands that have pushed deathcore from niche status into proper club venues over the past few years. Fifth studio album “Imperium Delirium” (June 2025, self-released), produced by guitarist Chris Wiseman, who also plays in Currents. Twelve songs, including a feature with Cannibal Corpse legend Corpsegrinder. Billboard chart placements with predecessor “Elegy” (2022). And a live presence that has taken them from Halo-inspired bedroom producers to one of the most bankable acts in extreme metal in just a few years.
The fact that they are returning to Germany as headliners for the second time in 2026, after touring with Cattle Decapitation just last year, speaks to the momentum. The venues are solid mid-tier, not arenas, but no longer basement clubs either. Backstage Werk, Fabrik, Metropol and Essigfabrik are exactly the kind of rooms where bands like this take the next step.
The support package fits: Aborted bring three decades of Belgian grindcore/death metal, Soreption contribute Swedish tech-death, and Disembodied Tyrant round out the lineup as an up-and-coming act. For fans of extreme metal, this is one of the strongest tour packages of the autumn.
