Behemoth – “I, Scvlptor” and a European tour
Eight Unreleased Songs and Two Cover Versions
Behemoth have released the music video for “I, Scvlptor”. The song is the title track and first single from the release of the same name, due September 4, 2026 – physically through Massacre Records, digitally through Nuclear Blast, on CD, vinyl, cassette and as a limited box set.
Anyone expecting a new studio album is on the wrong track, and for once that is no shortcoming. “I, Scvlptor” gathers eight previously unreleased pieces: seven studio recordings and one live take. Frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski describes the record as a connecting piece, a bridge between where the band stands today and whatever may come in the more distant future. The tracklist is built exactly that way.
It reaches back into the Poles’ early days. “Rise Of The Blackstorm Of Evil”, one of the earliest Behemoth songs, written in 1992, and “In Thy Pandemaeternum” from “Pandemonic Incantations” (1998) appear as new recordings with present-day production. On top of that come two covers that amount to more than friendly finger exercises: Venom’s “In League With Satan”, cut with Dimmu Borgir singer Shagrath, and a live take on Bathory’s “The Return Of Darkness And Evil” with Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ on the mic. Anyone who knows the scene reads this guest list as a small map of European extreme metal.
The title track itself Nergal places in the tradition of monumental Behemoth pieces like “O Father O Satan O Sun!”. Lyrically, he says, it is about the never-finished process of shaping oneself – an uneven struggle with matter and one’s own limits. The sculptor working on himself: hence the title.
The bridge does not end on the record. Venom’s “In League With Satan” is also the name of the tour that takes Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir across Europe in October 2026 as co-headliners. Special guests are the Swedes of Dark Funeral. Nergal calls the line-up what he himself describes as the biggest black metal package ever assembled; Dimmu Borgir, for their part, are glad to return alongside the Poles after several years without an extended European tour.
Northern Germany gets its date on October 22, 2026, when the tour stops at the Inselpark Arena in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg. Doors are at 6 p.m., the show starts at 7 p.m., tickets start at 66 euros plus fees through Eventim and Metaltix, and the evening is presented by Radio Bob and Time For Metal. Five German dates are on the schedule in total: alongside Hamburg there are Zwickau (October 10), Munich (October 14), Cologne (October 20) and Berlin (October 23).
